People First.
At Smilestones, therapy begins with relationships.
Read about our approach.
We know that families often arrive with questions, uncertainty, and hope for their child’s future.
Our team works alongside parents with patience, respect, and genuine care, creating an environment where children feel understood and families feel supported.
Our team is grounded in the principle that a child’s needs always come first. We hold this at the center of everything we do, and it guides every decision we make in therapy and in collaboration with families. When we stay aligned with this shared vision, everything else begins to fall into place.
By keeping our focus on the child, we are able to build stronger relationships, clearer goals, and more meaningful progress for both the child and their family.

Mythili Chengapa
Founder & CEO
Smilestones was founded in 2019 by Mythili Chengapa after years of working closely with young children and families in Phnom Penh.
Through her experience in early childhood education, she recognised how difficult it was for parents to find reliable developmental support that felt both professional and compassionate.

As an educator and parent, Mythili understands the emotional journey families often experience when seeking help for their child.

This perspective continues to guide the culture of Smilestones, a place where parents are listened to, children are respected and progress is approached with patience and understanding.
Having lived in Cambodia for more than a decade and with fluent Khmer language skills, she has built strong connections within the community. She remains actively involved in guiding services, supporting families, and ensuring that care is transparent, ethical, and genuinely family-centred, while staying firmly aligned with the organisation’s original purpose.
Our Therapy Team
Our therapists work closely with children and caregivers to build communication, independence, and confidence in ways that feel natural and meaningful.
Therapy at Smilestones is collaborative, with parents, teachers, and therapists working together toward shared goals.
